Our clients: A $1 million furniture distributor paid salespeople on commission but had never reconciled commissions earned vs. draw paid, leading to uncertainty and frustration for management and salespeople.
Our solutions: We used the job-tracking capability of QuickBooks® to determine gross profit, and we used a Microsoft Access Custom Database Application to reconcile commissions based on gross profit for paid invoices only. The source of frustration was eliminated. The reps who thought they had money coming were paid, and the company and its sales force were able to determine which salespeople were in a deficit. In the end everyone was relieved, and to this day, reps receive monthly statements, giving everyone peace of mind.
