Our solutions: $1 million temporary placement firm: A manual billing, payroll and commission tracking process used Word documents for invoices and took two days a week to complete. We developed a Microsoft Access Custom Database Application to automate billing and produce payroll and commission reports, reducing their system of generating 50 to 100 invoices a week from a 2-day process to 2 hours.

$2 million manufacturers rep: The owner required extensive reporting and the ability to see data in various formats, including this year vs. last year; by product, product line and customer; tracked orders; invoices; and commissions due and paid. 80% of one employee’s time was devoted to creating and maintaining an elaborate Excel spreadsheet system that tracked every order from placement to payment. To compound the problem, the employee was leaving the company.
We developed a documented menu-driven Access database application to replace all the spreadsheets, and the reports now can be produced by anyone in the office. In addition, the company can analyze information in ways it couldn’t before. And the employee who left wasn’t replaced, saving the company $80,000 in salary and benefits every year.

$10 million private equity fund: Various employees used several ineffective methods to track investors, investments, loans and all related financial information. Remote Controller® developed an Access database application that, along with QuickBooks®, tracks and reports everything that’s needed. Our client has outsourced all bookkeeping, accounting and information management functions to Remote Controller®, allowing them to focus on raising money. No one involved knows or wants to know what we do. They just want us to handle it all, and we do, giving them peace of mind they couldn’t achieve before.

$25 million manufacturers rep – A manual and time-consuming commission payment process took two weeks every two months. Some reps had to wait six months to be paid, and even then, the company was unable to track costs by invoice. We were able to streamline the process without the added expense of new software. Instead, we made simple modifications that automatically produce commission reports. Processing commissions now takes 1 day a month, and reps are paid monthly. The added efficiency is saving the company money every day, and our client has realized increased goodwill with the reps.
